BIG Invites Anyone Interested in Peaceful Change
BIG (Bandon Inclusivity Group) invites anyone interested in peaceful change-making to stand with us during our weekly demonstrations at the intersection of Highways 101 and 42S: Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 pm and Fridays 2:00-3:00 pm.
BIG weekly demonstrations began June 3, 2020 with a lone woman standing at the intersection of Highways 101 and 42S in response to the killing of George Floyd on May 25, 2020. The original focus was and continues to be Black Lives Matter.
Since that first day, other justice themes have been welcomed to demonstrate with BIG: social justice, environmental justice, economic justice, women’s reproductive rights, voting rights, LGBQTI+ rights, immigration rights, right to housing, right to medical care, etc.
We request of all interested people that they maintain a respectful demeanor toward the public, and if they have any questions about how we conduct ourselves, they can refer to any of the experienced BIG people available.
While individuals can bring their own signs, we will make signs available to those who wish them. With signs held during demonstrations, we want to deliver positive messages, policies, etc. as opposed to derogatory statements. We ask that no signs endorsing political candidates be brought.
Thank you for your support and we’ll see you out there!!
