Protecting Democracy: A Civics Workshop will be January 21, 2pm at The Barn Community Center, in Bandon.

This non-partisan workshop will provide the basics of the election process at a local level.  We invite and encourage all to attend, whether you are new to voting or have never missed an election.  This is an opportunity to brush up on the election process as outlined in our constitution and our local ordinances, and also to seek answers to specific questions or concerns about election procedures in Coos County.

The Bandon Inclusivity Group (BIG) is hosting this event to allow folks to interact with local election leaders, non-partisan civic groups, elected officials and concerned citizens. Small groups of folks will discuss the election procedures with these representatives.  Tips on sorting out misinformation and disinformation will be provided.  Come join us and learn about the rules of elections in Coos County, how candidates get on the ballot, how people can cast ballots, and how votes are tallied.  Our goal is to foster the democratic process as outlined in our constitution so that all of us can be confident that our voices are heard as we participate in the coming election season.
