The Continuing Conversation About BIG's Future*
By WF, PN & JAZC
Bandon Inclusivity Group (BIG) is ready to take the next step.
IT’S TIME TO TALK!
BIG traces its beginnings back to the response of a lone Bandon High School graduate to the murder of George Floyd. When the street demonstration for racial justice at the intersection of the 101 and 42S attracted a growing positive response, BIG began to offer Peace Circles (meditation sessions) as a next step to promoting harmony, peace, and a common vision.
From street demonstrations to Peace Circles, BIG is laying the foundation to support the development of community members who have the awareness and the inner peace from which to work together for a more inclusive, positive community and to face the challenges as we try to build a better world for ourselves and our children.
BIG’s intention has always been to find common ground. Consequently, the next step is to develop our ability to be in conversation, specifically, to learn how to listen in a way that we can understand one another, especially those with whom we may disagree.
