The Ocean Calls!

Saturday, August 12, at 10:30 am, children ages 4-8 and their families are invited to the Sprague Room of the Bandon Library to learn about the tradition of diving for shellfish in South Korea.  The Ocean Calls:  A Haenyeo Mermaid Story by Tina Cho will be read by local resident Beverly Minn.  Music, crafts, and a Korean snack will make this day a fun learning experience for all.

Each family attending will receive a copy of The Ocean Calls or, if supplies run out, a coupon to receive the book at a later date.  BIG’s Children’s Cultural Books Programs are sponsored by Coos County Cultural Coalition, Oregon Cultural Trust and South Coast Equity Coalition.  BIG’s Children’s Cultural Books Programs are not sponsored or endorsed by the Bandon Public Library.
