LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!
WORKSHOP: CONTACT! WRITING TO AFFECT POLICY
Jeannie Culp

BIG has been encouraged by the positive change in response to our demonstrations on the intersection of 101 and 42s over the years. We are confident that we are laying a sound foundation to our work toward inclusivity with the regular Peace Circles offered, the “Listening to Understand” Workshop last fall, and the follow-up “Listening to Understand” demonstration on our website.
We would now like to take another step and assure the voice of the BIG community is ever present in our community and in the conversation as policy is being made.
We would now like to take another step and assure the voice of the BIG community is ever present in our community and in the conversation as policy is being made.
The primary goal of the workshop is developing skills to affect policy-making toward inclusivity.
We’d like the first meeting to focus on gathering shared experiences and information concerning ways to communicate effectively with our community through “Letters to the Editor” and contact (via calls & letters) with our representatives in Bandon, Coos County, Salem and Washington D.C.
We’d like to hold regular gatherings to encourage one another, exchange ideas, review each other’s work, track our missives and any responses, and track our achievements.
